Find traffic shifts early
See which pages are gaining momentum and which need help.
Compare performance windows to find the URLs behind sudden changes in clicks, impressions, CTR, and rankings.
What it finds
- Page Movement shows which URLs changed the most between two comparison windows.
- It is built for spotting winners, losers, and pages whose search visibility changed quickly.
What it uses
- The data comes from the Google Search Console property you connect to SEO Signal.
- SEO Signal reads historical Search Console performance data and turns it into page, query, trend, country, and device views.
Why it matters
- Explains whether growth or decline is concentrated in a few URLs or spread across the site.
- Helps distinguish content changes, ranking shifts, seasonality, and indexing problems.
Example output
Page Movement keeps the next review visible.
Observed
Page Movement shows which URLs changed the most between two comparison windows.
Evidence
The data comes from the Google Search Console property you connect to SEO Signal.
Next review
For losing URLs, check ranking query changes, title edits, indexing status, and competitor movement.
How it works
See how the evidence becomes a reviewable decision.
SEO Signal makes the data scope and calculation visible, so your team can use the result as evidence rather than a black-box score.
- 1
Only URLs that appear in both comparison windows are included. Brand-new and fully lost URLs are handled in New Pages and Lost Pages.
- 2
Click and impression changes are normalized as average per day, so uneven comparison windows stay fair.
- 3
CTR and position changes compare the current window with the previous window directly.
- 4
The biggest click movers are shown first, whether the change is positive or negative.
- 5
Gaining URLs are pages with more average daily clicks than before. Losing URLs are pages with fewer average daily clicks than before.
- 6
Net Daily Click Change adds up the average daily click gains and losses inside this movement list.
- 7
The 7d and 30d reports compare the selected period with the immediately preceding period of the same length. Last 90 days has no comparison window.
- 8
This Month compares finalized days with the matching day span in the previous month. Last Month compares the complete previous month with the complete month before it.
What to do next
Choose the next evidence-backed step.
- For losing URLs, check ranking query changes, title edits, indexing status, and competitor movement.
- For gaining URLs, strengthen internal links and add conversion paths while momentum is fresh.
Evidence & boundaries
Important limits to check before acting.
- Search Console hides some low-volume or sensitive search data, so page totals, query totals, and site totals may not match perfectly.
- The current day is not used because Search Console data can still be incomplete.
- A result in these reports is a signal for investigation. It is not proof by itself that a page was published, deleted, penalized, or technically broken.
- Calendar months can contain different numbers of days, so movement is shown as average change per day.
- Net Daily Click Change may not equal total site click change because it only covers pages included in this movement view.
- A positive position delta means the average position number increased, which usually means ranking got worse.
