Track the searches that matter
See ranking movement before traffic tells the story.
Follow the keywords tied to your product and content strategy, then catch page-one movement and sudden drops early.
What it finds
- Rank Tracking follows the keywords you care about inside your own Search Console data.
- It is best for important brand, product, comparison, and non-brand queries you want to monitor every week.
What it uses
- The data comes from the Google Search Console property you connect to SEO Signal.
- SEO Signal reads historical Search Console performance data and turns it into page, query, trend, country, and device views.
Why it matters
- Shows whether target keywords are moving before traffic impact becomes obvious.
- Helps connect page edits to ranking movement.
From signal to decision
See the logic behind every recommendation.
SEO Signal makes the calculation visible, so your team can use the report as evidence rather than a black-box score.
- 1
Tracked keywords are cleaned and deduplicated when saved.
- 2
A tracked keyword can match longer Search Console queries that contain the same phrase.
- 3
Current rank is the average position on the latest day in the selected period where Google showed your site for that keyword.
- 4
Start rank is the average position on the first day in the selected period where Google showed your site for that keyword.
- 5
Best rank is the best average position seen during the selected period.
- 6
Change is Start - Current. Positive change means the tracked keyword improved.
What to do next
Move from a report to a real SEO fix.
- Investigate ranking drops with page detail, indexing checks, and competitor SERP review.
- Add internal links and content updates for keywords close to page-one movement.
Read the signal in context
Important limits to check before acting.
- Search Console hides some low-volume or sensitive search data, so page totals, query totals, and site totals may not match perfectly.
- The current day is not used because Search Console data can still be incomplete.
- A result in these reports is a signal for investigation. It is not proof by itself that a page was published, deleted, penalized, or technically broken.
- Rank Tracking is based on Search Console average position, not a live Google results check.
- Because matching can include longer phrases, one search query can match more than one tracked keyword.
- Days without impressions are gaps for rank calculations, not zero-ranking days.
